Sale of Norton Canes, Cannock

Hawksmoor have sold land in the village of Norton Canes, Cannock with outline planning permission for the development of 274 new homes and associated employment land to developer Persimmon Homes.

The land lies to the south of Norton Canes village on Norton Hall Lane and had been allocated by Cannock Chase District Council as a Sustainable Urban Extension to provide up to 450 new homes in tandem with an adjoining site to the north.  The site also provides for 6,300 square metres of employment space.  The site was sold to Persimmon Homes and the deal completed in January this year.  The site is one of the main allocated housing sites in Cannock Chase's Local Plan and will supply a significant source of much needed new housing.  The outline planning permission provides for at least 14% affordable housing and will also provide for contributions towards community infrastructure such as highways improvements, bus services and education facilities.

Tom Bathurst, Associate Director at Hawksmoor said "This is an exceptionally well-located site that benefits from excellent access to the M6 Toll Road and wider motorway network, together with employment opportunities in nearby Cannock and Burntwood and existing amenities in the village itself.  The local community will benefit from contributions towards the improvement of road junctions, bus services and schools in the area."
