Fazeley's historic boathouse stands on the site, which is an important building in the Fazeley conservation area. Planning permission has recently been gained to convert the boathouse into four residential apartments. In addition, it permits the construction of seven new build town houses and three apartments.

The area has been subject to significant investment and regeneration in recent years and this new development looks set to enhance it further. Located next to the Birmingham and Fazeley canal junction, the site presents a unique area to purchase a home, designed to take advantage of its canal frontage as well as boasting excellent views over Tamworth.

Brian Egerton, Director of Hawksmoor, said, "Due to the historic nature and conservation area setting of the site there were sensitive building restrictions tht needed to be carefully considered and accommodated, which made this project both interesting and complicated. However, we successfully concluded the site sale and purchase through negotiations with Fresh Space on behalf of the landowners."

Bob Rafferty, Director of Fresh Space, said, "Our aim is to build homes that people aspire to live in and we look forward to providing such properties on the site of the boathouse in Fazeley."
