Testimonials

Oaklands Grove, Staffordshire

“We have regularly worked with Hawksmoor since 2005 and appointed them on our latest housing estate. Private road negotiations of critical importance were required with Staffordshire County Council under Section 7 of the Highways Act 1980, along with the satisfactory completion of additional Section 106 Agreements with the Local Authority.

Having worked with Hawksmoor over many years we knew they would get us the results we needed in a professional and timely manner. Hawksmoor’s and Brian Egerton’s attention to detail is something we haven’t seen before; their impeccable high standards leave us with the utmost trust they will always deliver. Having such extensive development knowledge, it's always in safe hands when they are working for us.

This latest development project, together with various others couldn’t have been achieved without their dedication to getting results. Having such a great working relationship is invaluable to us, our expectations are always exceeded, and we highly recommend Brian and the wider Hawksmoor team.

We look forward to working with them again on our future developments.”

Marston Lane, Doveridge, Derbyshire

“We commissioned Hawksmoor to Project Manage a new housing site in a location whose residents were unlikely to welcome further changes to their surroundings. Hawksmoor impressed from the outset with their arguments and foresight for the task and likely issues. Always apparent were Brian Egerton’s strong communications, organisation, knowledge, understanding and technical experience, all supported by boundless motivation, determination and energy.

Throughout the period of the various planning applications, Brian proved to be a persuasive negotiator and tireless researcher, allowing Hawksmoor to recruit and manage relevant project team members to achieve the necessary goals, at all times providing regular feedback on essential items. His competence allowed him to spot and manage difficulties, showing him to be in control and even ahead of the game, thus problems were foreseen, then resolved quickly and confidently.

Above all, Brian’s attention to detail and his frequent contact with the landowners, consultants and authorities, supplying unambiguous and reassuring landowner information, led to a successful outcome in concluding Section 106 Agreement obligations, full planning permission, contract documentation and finally a private treaty land sale to Owl Homes Limited, in often very challenging circumstances.

We would recommend Hawksmoor without reservation.”

Bradshaw House, Congleton, Cheshire

“Hawksmoor were instructed to undertake pre-purchase due diligence upon the site’s 200+ years of historic significance as a Grade II, Regency/Georgian Listed Building, occupying the site of John Bradshaw’s House in Congleton’s conservation area.  Consultancy works included interests from the Georgian Group, commissioning of arboricultural and acoustic surveys, heritage significance and justification reports, energy assessments and sympathetic design works.  Brian is what can only be described as a ‘fine tooth comb’, attention to detail is this man’s middle name.  The project management support was second to none.   At no point was I left feeling I was among a large quantity of other projects competing for Hawksmoor’s input.

We have found it difficult to find consultants who have similar fire, desire, and commercial discerning to deliver projects.  Brian and his team at Hawksmoor are one of the exceptions taking viability and timescales to heart.  Project co-ordination brought about successful final designs, and with the valued support of Local Authority Conservation and Planning Officers the issue of full planning permissions for supported living apartments and associated listed building consent.

Without Hawksmoor the project would have been aborted due to lack of progress and holding costs exceeding budget. As a company and personally, I cannot recommend them enough.  They have gone above and beyond, pulling out all the stops to see this project over the line.”

Stourport Road, Bewdley, Worcestershire

“Hawksmoor and Brian Egerton’s high standards of land agency services and approach to project management have been professional and diligent throughout. The land promotion was locally sensitive, and the approach was one of respectful recognition of local stakeholders balanced with achieving the planning consent successfully overlaid time wise, with cabinet approval for the site being removed from the Green Belt. The ambition, energy, and enthusiasm necessary to maintain this through a lengthy process is commendable, alongside Brian’s abundant careful consideration of all technical and financial details.

The agricultural land adjoining Bewdley was located within the protected West Midlands Green Belt, created following the introduction of the 1947 Planning Act and reinforced by the 1980’s Wyre Forest Urban Areas Local Plan.

EPIL instructed Hawksmoor at the project outset, to undertake pre-purchase due diligence and direct the site’s promotion into the Wyre Forest District Council’s adopted Local Plan 2016 – 2032 for housing, in opposition to competing parcels of land proposed for development.

Hawksmoor co-ordinated the client’s team members, project managing the site’s removal from its Green Belt designation, the assembly of co-ordinated planning application documents, the securing of Wyre Forest Council’s housing allocation for up to 100 dwellings and negotiating Section 106 Agreement commercial terms. After successfully resolving River Severn flood risk matters and the grant of planning permission, Hawksmoor undertook joint marketing, thereby successfully delivering an efficient unconditional sale to a regional housebuilder”.

We recently worked with Hawksmoor to locate and acquire a 115,185 sqft commercial unit in Stafford to extend our warehouse and distribution operations. Brian worked diligently throughout the whole process to help us explore available options and secure the best property.

Brian's practical and pragmatic approach in all dealings was greatly appreciated, added value, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the entire practice to others.

The Hawksmoor team recently secured a 44 acre site for Gleeson Land in Shropshire. As usual, we received a thoroughly courteous, efficient and professional service from Brian and his colleagues.

The excellent relationship Brian established with the agent and landowner ensured that the legal process went as smoothly as possible and we look forward to working with the Hawksmoor Team in bringing the site forward for residential development through the emerging Shropshire Local Plan process.

Former St James' Church and Agricultural Land, Pipe Ridware, Staffordshire

Due to potential problems with HS2 and Covid we were recommended to appoint Hawksmoor as acquiring agents to help in the purchase of a de-commissioned church and adjoining glebe land from the Church Commissioners and Lichfield Diocese.

Hawksmoor were incredibly helpful at every turn and we could not have achieved such a satisfactory and timely result without them. On many occasions when we were overwhelmed by set-backs and delays, their experience, professionalism and dogged determination helped us to get the project “over the line”; we simply could not have done it without them and we will be forever grateful to all of the Hawksmoor staff who were involved in the project.

Many thanks to you all.

Site Disposal

"St Modwen have a longstanding working relationship with Hawksmoor and their staff. Most recently they were responsible for the marketing and sale of a site in Stafford Borough. Hawksmoor were efficient from the first site visit to final completion, they did not need chasing for a response and seemed to be ahead of the game throughout, which was a refreshing aspect of their involvement.  Their relationship with prospective purchasers was invaluable but their negotiating skill in attaining a higher than expected return was mutually beneficial and appreciated.  I would describe them as professional, fair and friendly. I hope to be working with them again soon."
